Cape Cods, Tudors, and basement ranchers with wood floors under the carpet
Blossomwood filled in between the 1940s and the 1960s and then stopped. Cape Cod cottages, a handful of Tudors and colonials, low mid-century ranches, and the basement ranchers that step down the grade toward the mountain. Nobody is grading new lots here. Why does Blossomwood get pollen worse than the rest of town?
Geography. These streets run downhill from the tree line on Monte Sano, so what the slope turns loose in April lands on porches here days before it reaches flatter parts of the city. The mature canopy over Cherry Tree Drive and Sunset Drive adds its own. It comes inside on shoes, settles into the pile, and a household vacuum only lifts the top layer of it.
