Carpet cleaning in Big Cove, where the carpet is younger than the neighborhood

Three rooms for $109, dry in about an hour, and roughly 19 miles of U.S. 431 on the east-side run our crews make most weeks. The people who pull into your driveway live out this way themselves. Most floors out here went in after 2018, and nearly every call we get in this valley is about carpet that looks dirty long before it is actually worn.

Old Big Cove Road to Taylor Road SE

Out here the carpet has a build date, and it decides the job

Freshly cleaned carpet on a real LocalPro job, photographed by our crew

The valley has carried the name Big Cove since 1807 and has been turning into subdivisions for twenty-five years straight. Drive Old Big Cove Road and you pass a farmhouse on acreage, then a gate into streets that were pasture when its owner was still cutting hay.

The mid-2000s streets are the older stock now. Valley Cove, Carrington, Southampton, Creekstone and Liberty Park are on their second carpet or overdue for it. The larger lots off Sutton Road hold more area rug per house than anywhere else here.

Then there's the new belt along Taylor Road SE. Big Cove Station is still selling homes from the $240s, and Hampton Station, Hampton Valley, Hampton Ridge and Hampton Pointe at Saddle Ridge filled in behind it. Nothing but a vacuum has ever touched the pile in half those houses.

The Big Cove problem

Polyester doesn't wear out first. It mats, and then it reads as filthy

Almost everything installed in this valley since 2018 is polyester or PET. It's soft underfoot and cheap enough to run through a whole house. It also loves oil.

Skin oil off bare feet, kitchen grease that travels down the hall on socks. The dog adds whatever's riding in its coat. Polyester grabs all of it and holds on, and that oily film then catches dry soil like tape. The shadow down the middle of your hallway at year four is that, not damage.

Matting is the other half. Traffic bends the fiber tips flat so they scatter light instead of bouncing it back, and a crushed lane looks dirty on the day it was cleaned. No vacuum lifts that. A hot pre-spray left to dwell, a groomer worked through the lane, and very little water does. That's the everyday work here, and the process is on our low-moisture carpet cleaning page.

Before you price replacement: dark lanes at four or five years old usually mean the carpet has plenty of life left. Three rooms cleaned is $109, and we'll tell you if yours is past helping.

New construction, closing day forward

Some of what's in your pile arrived before you did

Fresh carpet comes with drywall dust already down in it. The builder's last vacuum lifts the surface layer, not the powder that settled into an open pile during finish work. It hides below the tips until a year of walking grinds it around, and it comes up gray on our first pass.

Then there are the lots still being graded two doors down. Bare Madison County clay turns to orange powder in August and slick paste in March, and it rides home on cleats however well your own yard has grassed in.

Clay is the one thing here you shouldn't go after with a wet rag. Our red clay stain removal guide has the first aid that genuinely helps.

What Big Cove actually books

Young houses and young dogs, mostly

Spots, not disasters

Family houses with puppies and toddlers in them, so most pet calls here are recent accidents rather than years of buildup. Treatment starts at $30 a room with a 100% pet odor removal guarantee. See our pet stain and odor removal page.

Protectant while it's young

Protectant starts at $20 a room, $119 minimum, and it pays for itself on newer polyester because the enemy here is oil. Best value is right after the first cleaning.

The sectional and the playroom rug

Sofas start at $140 and sectionals at $240, cleaned in place. Synthetic rugs run from $1 a square foot, cleaned right there in your home. Fabrics are covered on our upholstery page.

Price and paperwork

Same list at the end of Old Big Cove Road as in town

$109 covers three rooms up to 450 square feet. Extra rooms start at $40, hallways from $20, stairs from $40 per flight, job minimum $99. You get the exact total in writing before a machine comes off the truck, and the drive out is free.

One local quirk: you say you live in Big Cove, your mail says Owens Cross Roads. Both are right, both sit in 35763, both get the same crew. The wider town is on our Owens Cross Roads carpet cleaning page.

Big Cove questions we get asked

Why does my newer Big Cove carpet look dirty already?

Two reasons, and neither one is wear. Builder polyester holds oily soil, so a hallway picks up a gray cast years before the fiber gives out. Foot traffic also crushes the pile until it scatters light instead of reflecting it, which your eye reads as dirt. Both respond to a pre-spray with real dwell time and a groomer. Four-year-old carpet in this valley usually cleans up far better than its owner expects.

Do you serve Big Cove Station and the Hampton neighborhoods?

Yes. Big Cove Station, Hampton Station, Hampton Valley, Hampton Ridge, and Hampton Pointe at Saddle Ridge are all on our regular run down Taylor Road SE. Same $109 for three rooms, and no drive charge for the valley. Your mail may say Owens Cross Roads while you say Big Cove; it's the same 35763 either way. If the map app still shows your address as a construction lot, text us the subdivision entrance.

Can matted polyester carpet be restored?

A good bit of it, usually. When the fiber is bent over and packed with oily film, a hot pre-spray plus grooming stands the pile back up and the lane lightens noticeably. What will not come back is abraded fiber, where the tips have physically ground off. That shows up on stairs and in front of a favorite chair. We can tell the two apart at the door, and we say so before you pay for a room that cannot improve.

How long does it take to reach Big Cove?

About half an hour, door to door. It's roughly 19 miles across town, out U.S. 431 through the mountain cut, then Old Big Cove Road or Taylor Road SE down into the valley. The crew that runs this side of the county lives out here, so nobody is following a map into your subdivision. We work the east side most weekdays, and same-day is often realistic if you call 256-203-1984 in the morning. Our hours are Monday through Saturday, 7 to 5.
